The Food & Beverage Industry Innovation Fund (2008-2009)

The FBIIF program is now closed and we are no longer accepting applications.

Having recognized the importance of the food and beverage industry, the Alliance of Ontario Food Processors (AOFP) with financial support from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), and the Agricultural Adaptation Council (AAC), through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Advancing Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food (ACAAF) Fund, joined efforts to develop the Food & Beverage Industry Innovation (FBII) Fund. The FBII fund invested $3 million dollars in food and beverage industry projects in Ontario that improved the competitiveness and productivity of the industry. The AAC, a catalyst for adaptation, advancement and innovation within the agriculture and agri-food community, administered the FBII Fund.

The FBIIF completed two successful Call for Proposals, the first in the fall of 2008 and the second in the Spring of 2009.

The FBII fund was established to encourage investment into new, innovative processes, products or skills development. The projects are improving the competitiveness and long-term sustainability of individual businesses as well as sectors within the food and beverage processing industry and the agriculture and agri-food industry in general.
