Member Organizations |
Membership
Each AAC member organization is represented on the AAC Board of
Directors through their sector (e.g. horticulture, red meats, agri-food
processing, etc.) by an elected representative. Membership to the
Council is $150/year and allows both participation in nominations or the
opportunity to be nominated to the AAC Board of Directors
The AAC membership base consists of organizations whose members are
primary producers or related to the rural, agri-food, agribusiness or
agri-processing sector.

Alliance of Ontario
Food Processors- is a non-profit organization, which provides
members with strength to take on the challenges and opportunities of the
food and beverage processing industry.
BioEnterprise
- is a commercialization agent, established to help promote the
creation, growth and expansion of businesses in the Agri-Food and Agri-Life
Sciences and Bio-Product Industries.
Canadian
Federation of Independent Grocers - is a non-profit trade
association of over 4000 grocery retailers around Canada, which
continues to be a collaborative community, equipping and enabling
independent, franchised and specialty grocers for sustainable success.
Canadian Mushroom
Growers' Association - provides leadership to the mushroom sector of
agriculture through research, education, information, promotion and
government liaison while maintaining a competitive spirit.
Chicken Farmers of
Ontario
- is a farmer-run, non-profit organization representing
approximately 1,100 Ontario chicken farmers, who control and regulate
the production and marketing of chicken in Ontario.
Christian
Farmers Federation of Ontario - is a general farm organization for
family farmers promoting family enterprise, resource stewardship, family
values and rural community economic development.
Conservation Ontario
- represents a network of 36 Conservation Authorities, community – based
environmental organizations, dedicated to conserving, restoring,
developing and managing natural resources on a watershed basis.
Dairy Farmers of
Ontario - is the marketer of all milk in Ontario and is completely
owned, operated and financed by the provinces 5,000 milk producers,
whose farms supports about 9,400 farm families.
Ducks Unlimited
Canada - conserves, restores and manages wetlands and associated
habitats for North America’s water fowl. These habitats also benefit
other wildlife and people.
Egg Farmers of
Ontario
- provides consumers with a guaranteed supply of safe, high quality
eggs at both a reasonable price for consumers and a fair return to egg
and pullet farmers.
Farmers' Markets Ontario - is the dynamic network and voice of
Ontario’s farmers’ markets and their traditions, commitment to
leadership, development, management, promotion and representation.
Federated Women's
Institutes of Ontario - is a non-for-profit charitable organization
working with and for women in rural and small town Ontario to provide
educational programs and social events to pursue an enriched and
balanced lifestyle.
Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc. - exists to help members address
common issues, challenges, and opportunities, clearly communicate them
to government and whenever possible implement solutions that benefit
both our industry and the Canadian economy.
Food and Consumer
Products of Canada
- is the industry association representing approximately 150
Canadian-operated member companies that make and market retailer and
national brands sold through grocery, drug, convenience, mass
merchandise and foodservice distribution channels.
Fresh Vegetable Growers of Ontario - was established in response to
grower needs and surveys and provides producers with information and
training on food safety, production, marketing, promotion and education.
Grain Farmers of Ontario
- represents Ontario’s 28,000 growers of corn, soybean and wheat by
primarily focusing on research and innovation, marketing, production
information, and public outreach, policy development and advocacy.
Grape Growers of Ontario - is the advocate for over 600 processing
grape growers in Ontario ensuring growers’ needs are met from supplying
an access to information, to negotiating prices for all grapes sold to
processors.
Guelph Food Technology
Centre
- provides creative, confidential technical solutions, training,
consulting and auditing to the Canadian agri-food industry in the areas
of R&D, product development, packaging, shelf-life, food safety,
quality, and productivity improvement.
Indian
Agricultural Program of Ontario - is a non-profit Ontario
corporation owned by Status Indian farmers, who are committed to
sustaining economic growth of Ontario First Nations People through the
implementation of Agricultural related programs.
Junior Farmers'
Association of Ontario - provides opportunities for young people
aged 15-29 to take on the challenge of exploring their individual
talents and potential to develop personally while being involved in
bettering their communities, networking, and having fun.
Landscape
Ontario Horticultural Trades Association - is the province’s premier
horticultural trades association, with more than 2,000 professional
members and is positioned to be the leader in representing, promoting
and fostering a favourable climate for the advancement of the
horticultural industry in Ontario.
L'Union des
cultivateurs franco-ontariens - is an organization that has been
representing francophone farmers from across the province of Ontario for
the last 77 years and is dedicated to the promotion and representation
of economic interests and socio-cultural rights of these farmers.
Ontario
AgriBusiness Association - promote the crop input, grain and feed
sectors of Ontario agri business through representation to stakeholders,
consumers and government. They coordinate the services of all member
sectors in the areas of food safety, environmental stewardship,
education, communication, and operations.
Ontario Agri-Food
Technologies
- is a non-profit organization comprised of members from grower
associations, universities, industry and governments. The organization
focuses on ensuring that Ontario producers have access to the latest
technologies to compete globally and to develop new market
opportunities.
Ontario Apple
Growers
- is the representation for all of Ontario apple growers with 10
acres or more of apple orchard. Was developed to promote advocacy with
government and collaboration with industry partners for the health of
consumers and the wealth of producers.

Asparagus Growers' Marketing Board - is a marketing board that
represents its asparagus growing members.
Ontario Bean
Producers’ Marketing Board - is a non-profit organization
representing Ontario white pea bean producers. The organization offers
many areas of expertise to its producers such as marketing capabilities,
research funding, promotion and producer relations. The organization has
existed for over 60 years.
Ontario
Beekeepers' Association
- is a non-profit organization that provides a forum to pool resources
for education, promotion, research, networking and to deal with problems
that arise for beekeepers. It also provides a voice for beekeepers to
the scientific community and to the federal and Ontario Government
through the Canadian Honey Council.
Ontario
Berry Growers Association - represents berry growers in Ontario, by
funding industry promotion and research activities in an effort to
foster, encourage and promote all activities for the advancement of the
berry industry in Ontario.
Ontario Broiler Chicken Hatching Egg Producers' Association
Ontario Broiler
Hatching Egg & Chick Commission - administers the supply management
system for broiler hatching eggs and chicks in Ontario, sets prices for
replacement broilers, eggs and day-old broiler chicks, and provides a
forum for producers and industry representatives to openly discuss their
problems and needs.

Canola Growers Association - represents the interests of canola
growers in the province of Ontario and focuses its energies towards
marketing opportunities and providing both improved production and
research information.

Cattle Feeders' Association - works on behalf of the cattle feeding
industry to improve and maintain a more viable beef feeding industry in
Ontario, while also reclaiming and increasing market share for beef in
the province.

Cattlemen's Association - the unified voice of the province’s 21,000
beef cattle producers since 1963. Advocates on behalf of its members in
the areas of government lobbying, policy planning, industry development
programs, promoting beef and developing domestic and export markets.

Coloured Bean Growers Association - is a producer organization with
a mandate to promote, educate and fund research for the betterment of
the Ontario coloured bean industry.
Ontario Commercial
Rabbit Growers Association - represents the rabbit growers in
Ontario, and strives to enhance the profitability of meat rabbit
production through activities such as: lobbying, education, research and
market development.
Ontario
Co-operative Association - is a primary resource and common voice
for the development and enhancement of co-operatives and credit unions
for the economic and social betterment of communities and people in
Ontario.
Ontario Equestrian
Federation
- is the umbrella organization committed to equine welfare and to
providing leadership and support to the individuals, associations and
industries in Ontario’s horse community.
Ontario
Farm Fresh Marketing Association - is a not-for-profit, educational
and promotional organization for Ontario farm marketers.
Ontario Federation of
Agriculture - is Ontario's largest general farm organization taking
agriculture's issues and concerns to provincial and federal governments
for more than 38,000 Ontario members. Government officials respect and
look forward to OFA's well-researched input on a vast cross-section of
non-commodity-specific issues.

Flue-Cured Tobacco Growers' Marketing Board
- is a provincial marketing board that operates under the authority
of the Farm Products Marketing Act and the supervision of the Farm
Products Marketing Commission to control the production and marketing of
all flue-cured tobacco grown within Ontario.
Ontario
Fresh Grape Growers’ Marketing Board - represents 165 growers of
table grapes. Sales of $4 million at wholesale yielded a net farm gate
value of $2.8 million in 2004. The Board is funded by a check off on
each container sold.
Ontario Fruit and
Vegetable Growers' Association - is dedicated to the advancement of
horticulture, working proactively through effective lobbying for the
betterment of the industry and its producers as a whole through
advocacy, research, education, communication, and marketing. The
Association has a clear mandate to be the “voice” for its 7,500 Ontario
horticulture producer as government affairs, national and international
bodies, and to seek resolution of issues affecting its membership
throughout the year.

Ginseng Growers Association
- is a non-profit organization that represents ginseng growers in
Ontario by supporting research into new varieties of ginseng, new
production method, harvesting advances, and strategic marketing
directions.
Ontario Goat Breeders
Association - represents Ontario’s goat producers (milk, meat and
fiber), and aims to provide sound information, improve and develop goat
breeds, encourage expansion of the industry, and assist in the
development of meat, mohair and dairy product markets in Ontario.

Greenhouse Vegetable Growers
- represents more than 250 members who produce greenhouse tomatoes,
cucumbers and sweet peppers in Ontario by lobbying and conducting
research and promoting greenhouse vegetables through various media and
tradeshows.
Ontario Hatcheries Association - is a voluntary association of Ontario
poultry hatcheries. Its mandate is to promote the best interests of
members through information, education, research, and government &
industry relations.
Ontario Institute of
Agrologists - is one of Ontario’s 38 self-regulated professions
obligated to protect public interest and to ensure accountability,
competency, and transparency of conduct for Ontario’s registered
practitioners of agrology.
Ontario Maple
Syrup Producers Association
- represents, at all levels of government, over 400 Ontario
producers of maple syrup in Ontario. The organization also gives members
a chance to attend networking and information filled events, and have
access to valuable industry research and information.
Ontario
Plowmen's Association - is the parent host of the International
Plowing Match. Its mandate is to advance the interest of agriculture by
emphasizing the importance of proper cultivation and encourage modern
soil and water conservation. They have 50 member branches throughout
Ontario.
Ontario Pork
- represents the 2300 producers who market hogs in Ontario, assisting
them with marketing, consumer education, research, government
representation, environmental issues, animal care and food quality
assurance all to secure and enhance the industry.

Industry Council
- is a not-for-profit organization whose goal is to improve the
viability and sustainability of Ontario's pork industry, by bringing
together all stakeholders within the pork supply chain.
Ontario
Potato Board - is dedicated to providing consumers with delicious
high-quality potatoes as well as being a resource to information and to
address inquiries about potatoes, potato processing, storage,
preparation and nutrition.
Ontario Processing
Vegetable Growers - is a non-profit grower organization for
vegetable producers within the province. Its purpose is to annually
negotiate prices and terms and conditions of sale on behalf of growers.
Ontario Produce
Marketing Association - is a non-profit organization whose primary
objective is to promote the consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables
within Ontario by reaching out to consumers and providing members with
specialized industry services.
Ontario Restaurant
Hotel and Motel Association - the largest provincial hospitality
Association in Canada. With over 4,000 members, representing more than
11,000 establishments across the province, the ORHMA is dedicated to
fostering a positive business climate for Ontario's hospitality
industry, while providing value-added services to its members.
Ontario Seed Growers' Association - is one of seven provincial
branches of the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association, who promotes the
growing of certified seed to commercial farmers as a good farming
practice, provides educational updates for grower members and as a
board, meets to discuss Ontario seed-related issues to provide input on
the Ontario seed industry.
Ontario Sheep
Marketing Agency - a producer operated organization which represents
all aspects of the sheep, lamb and wool industry in the province of
Ontario. It was established to encourage, promote and represent the
industry.
Ontario
Soil and Crop Improvement Association
- founded in 1939, is a unique non-profit farm
organization with 53 local associations across Ontario devoted to
communicating and facilitating responsible, economic management of soil,
water, air and crops. The OSCIA has been involved in many significant
educational programs, demonstration projects, environmental improvement
initiatives, and investigative surveys since 1987.
Ontario Sugarbeet Growers' Association - represents Ontario’s 94 sugar
beet producers collectively growing 9,500 acres of the crop.
Ontario
Tender Fruit Producers’ Marketing Board - is the grower
organization for all producers of tender fruit who market to either the
fresh or processing market. On behalf of more than 500 grower-members,
prices are negotiated, and terms and conditions of sale are reviewed for
tender fruit sold to processors.
Ontario Tomato Seedling Growers' Marketing Board - Annually negotiates
prices and terms and conditions of sale with individual companies for
tomato plants that will be used for processing tomatoes.
Ontario Veal
Association - is a producer organization dedicated to promoting and
enhancing a viable and competitive Ontario veal industry through
innovation, marketing, advocacy, and education.
Rural Ontario
Municipal Association - is the rural municipal voice of the province
and an integral part of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, a
number of its Board members which serve on the Association of
Municipalities of Ontario Board of Directors.
Seed
Corn Growers of Ontario
- works with seed corn companies to negotiate production contracts
that not only make growers competitive, but also provide incentives to
produce excellent seed.
Turkey Farmers
of Ontario - is a producer run organization representing
approximately 180 turkey growers, aiming to encourage cooperation
throughout the turkey industry and to promote the consumption of turkey
in the province, while at the same time acting as the voice for Ontario
turkey farmers.
