Member Organizations
Membership
Each AAC member organization is represented on the AAC Board of Directors through their sector (e.g. horticulture, red meats, agri-food processing, etc.) by an elected representative. Membership to the Council is $150/year and allows both participation in nominations or the opportunity to be nominated to the AAC Board of Directors.  

The AAC membership base consists of organizations whose members are primary producers or related to the rural, agri-food, agribusiness or agri-processing sector.

Sixty-nine AAC member organizations represent various sectors of Ontario agriculture, agri-food and rural communities.

  • Alliance of Ontario Food Processors - is a non-profit organization representing the interests of Ontario’s food processors.

  • BioEnterprise - BioEnterprise is a commercialization agent, established to help promote the creation, growth and expansion of businesses in the Agri-Food and Agri-Life Sciences and Bio-Product Industries.

  • Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors - The Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors (CCGD) is a not-for-profit organization committed to advancing and promoting the grocery and foodservice distribution industry in Canada, at both the regional and national levels.  

  • Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers - The association's mission is to further the unique interests of Canada's independent and franchised grocers across Canada through progressive partnerships with retailers, their suppliers and the consumer.

  • Canadian Mushroom Growers' Association - provides leadership to the mushroom sector of agriculture through research, education, information, promotion and government liaison while maintaining a competitive spirit.  

  • Chicken Farmers of Ontario - is a farmer-run, non-profit organization representing approximately 1,100 Ontario chicken farmers.

  • Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario  - is a general farm organization for family farmers promoting family enterprise, resource stewardship, family values and rural community economic development. It focuses on sustainable family farm businesses and quality farm family life.

  • Conservation Ontario - represents a network of 36 Conservation Authorities, community – based environmental organizations, dedicated to conserving, restoring, developing and managing natural resources on a watershed basis.

  • Dairy Farmers of Ontario - is the marketer of all milk in Ontario and is completely owned, operated and financed by the provinces 5,000 milk producers, whose farms supports about 9,400 farm families.  

  • Ducks Unlimited Canada - conserves, restores and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s water fowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people.

  • Egg Farmers of Ontario - provides consumers with a guaranteed supply of safe, high quality eggs at the most reasonable prices possible.

  • Farmers' Markets Ontario - is the dynamic network and voice of Ontario’s farmers’ markets and their traditions, commitment to leadership, development, management, promotion and representation.

  • Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario - provides educational programs and social events for rural and urban women locally and provincially.

  • Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc. - exists to help members address common issues, challenges, and opportunities to retain and enhance FCO’s pre-eminent position in North American floriculture.

  • Food and Consumer Products of Canada  - is the industry association representing approximately 150 Canadian-operated member companies that make and market retailer and national brands sold through grocery, drug, convenience, mass merchandise and foodservice distribution channels.

  • Fresh Vegetable Growers of Ontario - The Fresh Vegetable Growers of Ontario are a grower organization that promotes the consumption of Ontario Grown Vegetables to ensure the profitability of our producers.

  • Grape Growers of Ontario - are the advocate of all processing grape growers in Ontario ensuring growers’ needs are met.

  • Grain Farmers of Ontario

  • Guelph Food Technology Centre - provides creative, confidential technical solutions, training, consulting and auditing to the Canadian agri-food industry in the areas of R&D, product development, packaging, shelf-life, food safety, quality, and productivity improvement.

  • Indian Agricultural Program of Ontario - has operated a loans program and an advisory service component since 1984. Program delivery has involved all agricultural sectors – dairy, beef, swine, poultry, crops, farm retail, farm repair, and agri forestry.

  • Junior Farmers' Association of Ontario - JFAO provides opportunities for young people age 15-29 of all backgrounds, but especially those in rural Ontario, to take on the challenge of exploring their individual talents and potential to develop personally while being involved in bettering their communities, networking, and having fun. JFAO's mission is "To Build Future Rural Leaders Through Self-Help and Community Betterment."

  • Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association - Landscape Ontario’s mission is to be the leader in representing, promoting and fostering a favorable climate for the advancement of the horticultural industry in Ontario.

  • L'Union des cultivateurs franco-ontariens - L’Union des cultivateurs franco-ontariens est une organization de représentation des agriculteurs francophones de toute la province de l’Ontario depuis maintenant 77ans.  L’Union des cultivateurs franco-ontariens is an organization that has been representing the francophone farmers from across the Province of Ontario for the last 77 years.

  • Oat and Barley Council of Ontario - The Oat and Barley Council of Ontario (OBCO) is a not-for-profit, industry-based organization established in 2002. Their goal is to provide neutral and independent information and to act as a voice for the oat and barley industry, including the production, research, food manufacturing, and retailing sectors.

  • Ontario AgriBusiness Association - promote the crop input, grain and feed sectors of Ontario agri business through representation to stakeholders, consumers and government. They coordinate the services of all member sectors in the areas of food safety, environmental stewardship, education, communication, and operations.

  • Ontario Agri-Food Technologies  - is a non-profit organization comprised of members from grower associations, universities, industry and governments. The organization focuses on ensuring that Ontario producers have access to the latest technologies to compete globally and to develop new market opportunities.

  • Ontario Apple Growers - was formed in the spring of 2004 and replaces the old Ontario Apple Marketing Commission which was disbanded in 2002. The new OAG represents 400 growers with 10 acres of apples or more. The OAG is funded by a check off against these growers. Apple sales in Ontario totaled $90 million in 2003 with a net farm gate value of $58 million.

  • Ontario Asparagus Growers' Marketing Board  - is a marketing board that represents its asparagus growing members.

  • Ontario Bean Producers’ Marketing Board  - is a non-profit organization representing Ontario white pea bean producers. The organization offers many areas of expertise to its producers such as marketing capabilities, research funding, promotion and producer relations. The organization has existed for over 60 years.

  • Ontario Beekeepers' Association  - is a non-profit organization that provides a forum to pool resources for education, promotion, research, networking and to deal with problems that arise for beekeepers. It also provides a voice for beekeepers to the scientific community and to the federal and Ontario Government through the Canadian Honey Council.

  • Ontario Berry Growers Association - The OBGA’s purpose is to foster, encourage, and promote all activities for the advancement of the berry industry in Ontario.

  • Ontario Broiler Chicken Hatching Egg Producers' Association

  • Ontario Broiler Hatching Egg & Chick Commission - OBHECC administers the supply management system for broiler hatching eggs and chicks in Ontario, as part of a national system. Commission meetings provide a forum for breeder pullet growers, hatching egg producers and hatchery representatives to openly discuss industry issues. Members of OBHECC believe that full co-operation among all participants in the broiler industry will serve the best interests of the entire community.

  • Ontario Canola Growers Association - represents the interests of canola growers in the province of Ontario and focuses it’s energies towards providing both improved production and research information as well as marketing opportunities.

  • Ontario Cattle Feeders' Association An organization that works on behalf of the cattle feeding industry to improve and maintain a more viable beef feeding industry in Ontario.

  • Ontario Cattlemen's Association  - the unified voice of the province’s 21,000 beef cattle producers since 1963. OCA advocates on behalf of its members in the areas of government lobbying, policy planning, industry development programs, promoting beef and developing domestic and export markets. OCA also directly serves its members as a resource for market pricing coordination and reporting and reliable, quick information on the latest issues.

  • Ontario Coloured Bean Growers Association - Producer organization with a mandate to promote, educate and fund research for the betterment of the Ontario coloured bean industry.

  • Ontario Commercial Rabbit Growers Association - The organization represents the rabbit growers in Ontario, and strives to enhance the profitability of meat rabbit production through activities such as: lobbying, education, research and market development.

  • Ontario Co-operative Association  - is a primary resource and common voice for the development and enhancement of co-operatives and credit unions for the economic and social betterment of communities and people in Ontario.

  • Ontario Equestrian Federation - The OEF is the umbrella organization committed to equine welfare and to providing leadership and support to the individuals, associations and industries in Ontario’s horse community.

  • Ontario Farm Fresh Marketing Association - Ontario Farm Fresh is a not-for-profit, educational and promotional organization for Ontario farm marketers.

  • Ontario Federation of Agriculture - is Ontario's largest general farm organization taking agriculture's issues and concerns to provincial and federal governments for more than 38,000 Ontario members. Government officials respect and look forward to OFA's well-researched input on a vast cross-section of non-commodity-specific issues.

  • Ontario Flue-Cured Tobacco Growers' Marketing Board - is a provincial marketing board that operates under the authority of the Farm Products Marketing Act and the supervision of the Farm Products Marketing Commission. The Board’s mandate is to control the production and marketing of all flue-cured tobacco grown in the province of Ontario.

  • Ontario Fresh Grape Growers’ Marketing Board - represents 165 growers of table grapes. Sales of $4 million at wholesale yielded a net farm gate value of $2.8 million in 2004. The Board is funded by a check off on each container sold.

  • Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers' Association - is dedicated to the advancement of horticulture, working proactively through effective lobbying for the betterment of the industry and its producers as a whole through advocacy, research, education, communication, and marketing. The Association has a clear mandate to be the “voice” for its 7,500 Ontario horticulture producer as government affairs, national and international bodies, and to seek resolution of issues affecting its membership throughout the year.  

  • Ontario Ginseng Growers Association - is an association that represents its grower members.

  • Ontario Goat Breeders Association - The OGBA has represented Ontario’s goat producers (milk, meat and fibre) for over 55 years.

  • Ontario Goat Milk Producers' Association - Promotes cooperation and exchange of information among producers of goat milk and promotes effective dairy goat management.

  • Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers - Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers (OGVG) was formed in 1967 and represents more than 250 members who produce greenhouse tomatoes, cucumbers and sweet peppers in Ontario, Canada.

  • Ontario Hatcheries Association - The OHA is a voluntary association of Ontario poultry hatcheries. Its mandate is to promote the best interests of members through information, education, research, and government & industry relations.

  • Ontario Institute of Agrologists - One of Ontario’s 38 self-regulated professions obligated to protect public interest and to ensure accountability, competency, and transparency of conduct for Ontario’s registered practitioners of agrology.

  • Ontario Maple Syrup Producers Association - Consists of over 400 Ontario producers, which are active in 11 district or local organizations. OMSPA is an active member of the North American Maple Syrup Council and the International Maple Syrup Institute

  • Ontario Plowmen's Association - OPA is the parent host of the International Plowing Match. Its mandate is to advance the interest of agriculture by emphasizing the importance of proper cultivation and encourage modern soil and water conservation. They have 50 member branches throughout Ontario.

  • Ontario Pork - provides an effective and responsible regulatory marketing system that promotes a healthy, vibrant and responsive pork industry for the province of Ontario.

  • Ontario Pork Industry Council - a not-for-profit organization whose goal is to improve the viability and sustainability of Ontario's pork industry. To strengthen the industry, OPIC will bring together all stakeholders within the pork supply chain.

  • Ontario Potato Board  - dedicated to providing consumers with delicious high-quality potatoes as well as being a resource of information and to address inquiries about potatoes, potato processing, storage, preparation and nutrition.

  • Ontario Processing Vegetable Growers - a non-profit grower organization for producers of tomatoes, green peas, sweet corn, green and wax beans, cucumbers, beets, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, lima beans, peppers, pumpkin and squash for the canning, freezing and pickling industry.

  • Ontario Produce Marketing Association - The Ontario Produce Marketing Association is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the marketing of fresh fruits and vegetables in Canada’s largest produce market – Ontario.

  • Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association - the largest provincial hospitality Association in Canada. With over 4,000 members, representing more than 11,000 establishments across the province, the ORHMA is dedicated to fostering a positive business climate for Ontario's hospitality industry, while providing value-added services to its members.

  • Ontario Seed Growers' Association  - one of seven provincial branches of the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association. The main function of the OSGA is to promote the growing of certified seed to commercial farmers as a good farming practice, provide educational updates for grower members and as a board, meet to discuss Ontario seed-related issues to provide input on the Ontario seed industry.

  • Ontario Sheep Marketing Agency - a producer operated organization which represents all aspects of the sheep, lamb and wool industry in the Province of Ontario. It was established to encourage, promote and represent the industry.

  • Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association - founded in 1939, is a unique non-profit farm organization with 53 local associations across Ontario devoted to communicating and facilitating responsible, economic management of soil, water, air and crops. The OSCIA has been involved in many significant educational programs, demonstration projects, environmental improvement initiatives, and investigative surveys since 1987.

  • Ontario Sugarbeet Growers' Association

  • Ontario Tender Fruit Producers’ Marketing Board - is the grower organization for producers of peaches, plums, pears, and cherries.

  • Ontario Tomato Seedling Growers' Marketing Board - Annually negotiates prices and terms and conditions of sale with individual companies for tomato plants that will be used for processing tomatoes.

  • Ontario Veal Association - is a producer organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing a viable and competitive Ontario veal industry through innovation, marketing, advocacy, and education.

  • Rural Ontario Municipal Association - The Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) is the rural municipal voice of the Province. The association is an integral part of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario and has a number of its Board members which serve on the AMO Board of Directors. Policy and research activities are undertaken by ROMA through the staff at AMO.

  • Seed Corn Growers of Ontario - work with seed corn companies to negotiate production contracts that not only make growers competitive, but also provide incentives to produce excellent seed. SCGO work to ensure that growers are provided with the best information and programs to maintain and broaden their seed corn production skills.

  • Turkey Farmers of Ontario - is a producer run organization representing approximately 180 turkey growers across Ontario.
